2006 is the “Year of Werner”: 25 years and not a scrap softer: WERNER is the most successful comic creation from Germany.

The Werner character bears some autobiographical traits. His creator Brösel (alias Rötger Feldmann) has worked as lithographer in Kiel, loves drinking Flens (a beer from the northern part of Germany) and is a passionate biker.
That’s why his stories revolve around the life a plumber apprentice, tough bikers, their never-ending trouble with the police and the MOT, drinking bouts and comparable excesses.
Werner with a total edition of more than 13 million sold copies is one of the most successful comic books made in Germany.

The four animated feature films based on Werner have all been extremely successful on the silver screen and regularly reach high audience ratings when aired on Sat.1.
