Who doesn't know Major Tom (völlig losgelöst/coming home) and has danced to it properly? The singer and songwriter and native of Stuttgart, Peter Schilling, created the song in his manageable one-room apartment. The hit climbed to the top of the charts since 1983, first throughout Germany, later across Europe to the USA, Canada. "Major Tom" is still his, let's say, Master Piece or as his long-time producer announces not without pride "... to this day one of the best-running titles that we market worldwide".

But Peter Schilling also had the brilliant idea of retelling the story from the world-famous song - as a story for children. As he says, he has remained a child at heart and thus came up with the idea for Little Major Tom, Stella and Plutinchen. And because he got to know the author and space fan Bernd Flessner, stories came out of it.

Little Major Tom, the young astronaut Stella and the robot cat Plutinchen are curious, energetic, clever and funny. The three friends help each other and stick together no matter what happens. Each of the three characters stands for different (character) strengths. As a team and with combined forces, they master every challenge. The exciting space theme, the adventurous events and encounters, as well as the "logbook" that Major Tom keeps, let children learn about fascinating scientific phenomena around the sun, moon and stars along the way.
