Pittiplatsch, known as Pitti for short, is an extremely articulate little imp. He is curious, mischievous, clumsy, sometimes cocky, absolutely loveable and cheeky. With his iconic sayings, such as "Oh, my nose!" or "You can believe!" he has been making his audience laugh for 60 years. As one of the Sandman's best friends, Pittiplatsch is also one of the highlights of licence marketing. His special feature is that he fascinates children and adults alike.

Historically, the traditional fan base consists of adults who grew up with the cheeky goblin in the 60s to 80s. Accordingly, the loyal followers have not been children for a long time and identify strongly with the original character. They feel very personally addressed by the old content, as it reflects their fond memories from their younger years.

Pre-school children and their parents are another key target group. They identify and grow up in particular with the Pittiplatsch of the new production. In 2019, rbb, MDR and NDR have already resurrected the funny trio Pittiplatsch, Schnatterinchen and Moppi after a break of almost 30 years. As a very special birthday present, 13 brand new episodes will be broadcast every Thursday from 16 June 2022 on the Sandmännchen programme of KiKa, rbb and MDR.
