The School of Magic Animals is a 2021 German-Austrian movie directed by Gregor Schnitzler. Based on the bestselling book series of the same name by Margit Auer, the family movie is the most watched film of 2021/22 in German cinemas with 1.7 million viewers. The action adventure about a school in which the children are given a magical animal as a companion centers on the new girl Ida, who goes from being an outsider to a star pupil thanks to her magical animal.

Gregor Schnitzler also brings the students of the Winterstein School and their magical animals to life in an exciting second cinematic adventure "The School of Magic Animals 2". The film was released in theaters on September 29, 2022.
