Little king Macius is the main character of a famous novel by the Polish educationalist, author and doctor Janusz Korczak. He was born 22.07.1878 in Warsaw and died in August 1942 at the extermination camp in Treblinka.

The story on Macius has been adopted for an animated series, airing on KiKa since the end of 2002. The high-quality animation is a co-produced by KI.KA, Saxonia Media, Studio achtundachtzig and Ellipsanime.

Macius, the little nine-year-old prince, is force to rule the country after his father died. Government is difficult and Macius would much prefer being an ordinary child. But the scholar Erasmus is a wise confidant and Macius’ friends Felix, Hanna and Anton always assist with shrewd ideas.
