Description:

101 Dalmatians, originally released under the title Pongo and Perdita, is the 17th full-length animated film by Walt Disney Studios and was released in 1961. It is based on the 1956 novel One Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith, in which she adapted memories of her late Dalmatian, Pongo. The story of 101 Dalmatians begins in the park. There, Roger, the master of Pongo, and Anita, the master of Perdita, meet and fall in love while out for a walk. The offspring is not long in coming and since the two have a big heart, they adopt other puppies without further ado. The 99 cute black-and-white spotted puppies and their dog parents took the hearts of the audience by storm. In 1996, the live-action film adaptation was made with Glenn Close in the role of the nasty furry fetishist Cruella de Vil and followed up on the success of the animated film. In 2000, the sequel to the live-action film was released, titled 102 Dalmatians, again starring Glenn Close as Cruella de Vil.
