The Hulk was created in 1962 by Stan Lee (author) and Jack Kirby (artists) for Marvel Comics inspired by Frankenstein’s monster. Comic books reach an annual circulation of 100 million copies at a market share of 40%. The TV series “Incredible Hulk” aired from 1977 to 1982.
In Summer 2003 a live action feature film by Universal Pictures made its silver screen debut. The movie tells about the adventures of Dr. Bruce Banner, a scientist who had accidentally exposed himself to gamma rays and mutated into HULK – an ugly creature with incredible powers. Directed by Ang Lee (Tiger & Dragon) the film features famous actors like Eric Bana (Black Hawk Down) as Dr. Bruce Banner and ‘The Hulk’, Jennifer Connelly (Beautiful Mind) as Betty Ross, Nick Nolte (The Prince of Tides) as Bruce’s father and ‘Absorbing Man’ and Sam Elliot (We Were Soldiers) as General Ross.
