There are innumerable variations of this two thousand-year-old legend. In China every child knows the popular story on the brave young girl which has already been adopted for more than 40 films. Since the most recognized animated movie, Disney’s Mulan, was released in 1998, the wonderful legend is famous all over the world.

500 BC the Wei Dynasty in China is threatened by marauding Huns from the North. Every family in China is expected to send one man to defend the empire. But the Fa family doesn’t have a son – only a daughter, Mulan.
When her frail father is called to join the Imperial Army, brave Mulan dresses up like a boy and secretly takes his place. Accompanied by her loyal friends, the hilarious dragon Mushu and the lucky cricket Cri-Kee, the girl has to prove herself with brains and skills – against the Huns but also against her prejudiced fellows. In the end, she shall safe her family’s honour and the whole empire.
