The series "L'apprenti Père Noël" is a French animated series that was released in 2006. The film of the same name was released in 2010.

The series is about eight-year-old Niklas, who lives in a home in Australia. One day, he is visited by an elf who tells him that he will be the new Father Christmas, who has to be found every 163 years. Until his term of office in 15 years' time, he is to train with the current Father Christmas, who is retiring after 178 years.
