Ahoy Capt'n Sharky! -- A swashbuckling character boards Coppenrath Publishing

The year is 2006. Michi is rocking in the waves and bored to death. Suddenly he hears someone call: "Board the ship!" and Capt'n Sharky captures his boat. That's how the story begins -- and that's how Michi and Capt'n Sharky make friends. "Käpt`n Sharky und das Geheimnis der Schatzinsel" (Capt'n Sharky and the Mystery of Treasure Island) is the first Capt'n Sharky picture book written by best-selling author Jutta Langreuter and published by Coppenrath, Münster in Germany. The little pirate's illustrator is Silvio Neuendorf. Up to now another three picture books have entered and captured the German market: "Käpt'n Sharky und das Seeungeheuer"(2007) and "Käpt'n Sharky und die Gefängnisinsel" (2008) and <>"Käpt'n Sharky -- Abenteuer in der Felssenhöhle" (2009).

Also available: Audio books of all the exciting Sharky-stories featuring swashbuckling songs by German comedian Dirk Bach. But Captn' Sharky and his crew also roam the waters of Edition "Die Spiegelburg". Illustrations from the book appear on puzzle games, tattoos and cool pirate accessories like flags, patches, and swords. The great pirate binocular helps real treasure hunters to discover land in sight -- and the great treasure chest provides enough space for all their treasures and gold.

The special highlight: For children aged 5+ Kai Haferkamp developed a new board game that challenges cognition, dexterity and patience. Fully fitted with magnetic board and 3D pirate ship players are ready to face the great "Abenteuer auf der Schatzinsel" (Adventure on Treasure Island) -- and the game was outright nominated for the "2008 Children's Game of the Year" award! The jury stated: "The well designed game with its little catapults and its 3D buccaneer ship is almost a toy. The game challenges your quick reaction, your memory and your marksmanship which makes it a perfect game for the whole family."

In addition to books, audio books and gift items all around Sharky, Blue Ocean Publishing in Stuttgart also launched a new magazine full of excitement and fun in summer 2008. Refined comics, exciting stories on pirate life, tricky challenges and yummy recipes -- little buccaneers aged 4 to 7 certainly get their money's worth. Issue circulation currently averages at 120 000 copies.
