The animated series American Dad revolves around Stan Smith, his work at the US secret service CIA and his family. The first episode of the series by Seth MacFarlane first appeared on the American TV channel Fox in 2005, and from 2006 the show also ran in Germany on MTV. The patriotic attitude of the Americans is often parodied, among other things with black humour.
