Description:
The blue pointed hat wearers from Smurfville are one of the world's best-known comic and cartoon classics. The Smurfs made their first appearance on October 23, 1958, in the comic series "Johan and Peewit" in the Belgian magazine "Spirou”. Initially created as minor characters, the little blue creatures penned by cartoonist Peyo quickly became so popular that from 1959 they regularly had their own adventures under the title "Les Schtroumpfs" - with huge worldwide success.
In the meantime, they have long since left the confines of comics, are represented in all media and there is no country in the world where their silhouette is not recognized at first glance. Their name has been translated into over 55 languages. The eternally young Smurfs have new adventures every day thanks to the studio's artists who keep Peyo's work alive, the animated series that are broadcast worldwide, the successful feature films and the numerous licensing partners whose products make fans' eyes light up.
The CGI-animated remake spans 104 episodes in 2 seasons, with the 2nd season running successfully on KiKA since April 2023. The absolute highlight is still to come: in 2025, fans can expect a brand-new theatrical movie to conquer the big screen.
