The Basketball Bundesliga, as the official sponsor name easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga, is the highest men's division in German basketball. It was introduced in the 1966/67 season. Initially, all 18 clubs play each other in the main round in first and second legs. Now the best eight teams play in the play-offs for the title of German basketball champion. The last two teams are relegated to the ProA, the second-highest division in German basketball.
